One woman, changing the game
There are talented professional athletes and there are people who add an entirely new dimension to a sport. Fatima Moreira de Melo indisputably belongs to the latter category. Not only because she is part of a generation of female hockey players who together captured world, European and Olympic titles several times, but most of all because of the role she has played in putting women’s hockey on the map. Thanks to Fatima’s example, talented hockey players like Ellen Hoog have realized the possibilities and are now able to make a living from their sport and fully dedicate themselves to it.

Thanks to her dedication and personality, Fatima has managed to blaze a trail for women in hockey. This trail also happened to lead her to Le Coq Sportif. Together with Fatima we have developed various fashion collections, including the famous gold hockey shoes and hockey stick with hearts that Fatima used to win Olympic gold in Beijing.
